Gay agenda per Bob

Here they come again. June 12, in the Great Falls Tribune, “Poll: Montanans support broader human rights laws.” The Montana Human Rights Network is pushing their gay/lesbian agenda and their lobbyist with a vote is Christine Kaufmann.

Year after year, she promotes to changing our laws to give special rights and privileges to the gay, “lesbian life style.” This is the person who was elected to represent the families of the Helena area. She said their survey showed Montanans were ready for their Hate Crime Legislation. I think the question really is, are you ready to give-up your right of free speech and your church’s right to teach the Bible?

We all have the same rights and protection under the law. Hate Crimes Legislation would give gays/lesbians preferential treatment and take from the majority of us the right of free speech, our ability to reject their life style and their in your face attitude.

It’s time to elect candidates that stands for the right of free speech, the family and family values.

Does this mean that "equal justice under the law" is meaningless? It must since they expect "special treatment" when they "believe" their sexual orientation is the cause of a crime committed against them even though it may not be.

Aren't all crimes, by their very nature, hate crimes? Crimes aren't committed because we love someone, it is done because the person committing the crime hates someone. "

What I hear from them is they don't want to be treated with hate. America's past is filled with the passing of legislation to support those that were not falling under the constitution as they should have. The womens right to vote and the civil right movement of the 60's are great examples. My freedom of speech and my desire to live my life according to God's word will not be threatened by protecting my homosexual neighbors and friends. "

Distinguishing between God language and the language of liberty and justice is important for America and Montana. Often, the same passion for liberty and justice becomes confused with religious passion. The law, Montana Code Annotated (MCA) 40-1-401 Section 1, also prohibits same-sex marriage. To make matters worse, under Montana law no social contracts, civil unions, domestic partnerships, etc. can include same sex couples (MCA 40-1-401 (4)). This may be the only legal sex-text applied in Montana law. As a mater of liberty and justice, not of God, the law must change. Same sex couples, as contributing citizens in a civil society, merit equal treatment under the law. Obviously, same-sex couples can fulfill the responsibilities of the marriage contract and raise children with as much success as other couples. No amount of God language should be allowed as evidence against actual observation of fact. Outside of civil proceedings, of course, churches are free to sanctify marriages according to their congregational convictions.

This letter claims we all have the same rights and protections under the law. But apparently, this is not so for same sex couples. The author suggests family and family values are important. They are. And same-sex couples are family, have families, and share family values. Marriage is a human right. With liberty and justice the law will recognize their rights before conceding these rights to religious bias. It might surprise the author just how similar his family is to families that include same-sex couples. "
