Interesting number of letters to the editor today

It must be march madness, there were lots of people airing thier opinions.
There was a Morman asking all to pray and fast for divine intervention to stop the drought.
There was a Shaman Healing Arts group burned out by an arsonist and wanted to thank Helena for thier help.
There was Bob giving his opionion about the 10 commandments.
Yesterday there was a boy scout mom who said she didn't appreaciate the boy scouts going to the capitol to fight against the bill adding sexual orientation to the dicrimintaion list.
There was a pastor complaining about the newspaper ad for a playgirl event. (another out of state transplant from Missouri)

Wow.
I don't have the time to respond properly.
I guess the one that bugs me is the pastor from Missouri.
These people come to Montana, not to save souls but to escape, to hide from crime, drugs, the colored people... etc. Is Montana really in the need of saving or is it just a place to hide and bide their time.
It seems Montana has always attracted wackos like these. They come here to live their lives in peace and worship as they please, start their own little churchs (cults), but then turn around and try and change Montana. These people are never happy, never will be until Christ (; returns and saves them from this supposed evil world. So Sad.
I wish they would be like the Hutterites, start a Godly colony, dress in black and hole up until armegedon. I know, wishful thinking.

my first post since getting back from Puerto Rico

Discrimination against gays. Critics of a bill to outlaw discrimination against gays and lesbians turned the tables on advocates by attacking the measure as discriminatory against the religious beliefs of those who oppose homosexuality.

These religious bigots can discriminate all they want, they just shouldn't be able to use the state to do so.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The voice of science is being stifled in the Bush administration, with fewer scientists heard in policy discussions and money for research and advanced training being cut, according to panelists at a national science meeting.
Speakers at the national meeting of the American Association for Advancement of Science expressed concern Sunday that some scientists in key federal agencies are being ignored or even pressured to change study conclusions that don't support policy positions.

No surprise here.

There is some interesting information about ID on there web site.

I tell my kids ghosts, monsters etc. don't exist

ROME, Italy (AP) -- Two members of a heavy metal group called the "Beasts of Satan" who confessed to taking part in three ritual Satanic slayings were sentenced to prison Tuesday, and a third defendant was acquitted, Italian media reported......

.... growing concern in Italy that young people are turning to Satanism and the occult. On Thursday, a Vatican-linked university opened a two-month course on diabolical possession and exorcism.

This last bit about possession and exorcism slays me.
These are the same type of people who believe in witches and other such nonsense.
These are the same type of people who burn Harry Potter books.

There may be monsters (evil people)in this world but they are not supernatural.

Hate crime bill tossed by House

HELENA — The state House of Representatives killed a bill on Monday that would have allowed judges and juries to mete out stiffer penalties to people convicted of hate crimes against gays, the disabled and other minorities.
House Bill 240, sponsored by Rep. Tom Facey, D-Missoula, failed on a 46-54 vote. Four Democrats voted against the bill, while one Republican, Rep. Mark Noennig of Billings, voted for it.
